Circus hudsonius, also known as the “Marsh Hawk”, cruises low over grasslands and wetlands seasonally from the arctic tundra to Central America. As with owls, feathers forming a disk around the face help to hear prey items as they scan for small mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and insects.
