Bobcat kittens are born helpless and blind, they open their eyes after around 9 or 10 days and take solid food after around 4 weeks. Young bobcats begin experimenting with leaving the den at around 6 to 8 weeks and are fully weaned after around 3 months. After 5 months, juveniles begin shadowing their mothers on hunts and may become independent after 8 to 11 months.
