Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Floating Primrose-Willow

Ludwigia peploides is an aggressive, easily spreading invasive perennial herb that can be found forming thick dense mats in shallow slow moving waterways. Also known as “Creeping water primrose”, it presents a significant ecological threat by blocking sunlight, increasing flood risk, depleting oxygen levels, which may suffocate fish, and creating ideal mosquito breeding situations, thereby increasing the risk of mosquito-spread diseases like West Nile virus.
