Who’s Amphibian Egg Mass?

During these March rains both the California Newts and the Pacific Chorus Frogs are still finding their favorite pools of water to breed in. Usually they attach their eggs to vegetation but these egg masses were floating unattached at the ponds edge.
This Chorus Frog was found under a cover plate by the pond’s edge.
Here’s one of 6 young California Newts seen climbing up the creek towards a pond.
