Hyles lineata, also known as the “Hummingbird Moth” is one of the most common Hawk Moths found in North and Central America. This thick bodied day-flying nectar seeking moth seems to be having a year of abundance as they can commonly be found these days working on the flowers of many plant species. Their larvae, often referred to as the “Hornworms” can be a serious defoliating threat to plants from many families.
