Twining Honeysuckle

Lonicera hispidula, “Pink Honeysuckle” utilizes its ability to wrap itself around trees and other sturdy structures to rise out of the shade and access more sunlight. A twining vine doesn’t have to invest energy in building strong self-supporting stems, twining also provides a strong support in high winds…but it can also girdle and kill its support plant.
