The Mute Swan, Cygnus olor is native to northern Eurasia and now found in parts of North America. During breeding season they spend a lot of time noisily flapping around trying to establish themselves in a territory by chasing off any perceived intruders. While beautiful and fun to watch their aggressive tendencies can prevent other native waterfowl from breeding in a location.
