St. John’s Wort

Hypericum perforatum, also known as “Klamathweed” came to California from Europe and North Africa in the early 1900’s and was reported to occupy 2.5 million acres in 1945. In 1950 the first of several biological control efforts were made by introducing various beetles. Today it is much less predominant but can still commonly be found in disturbed areas.
