Elgaria multicarinata can be found throughout the west coast in a variety of habitats. The yellow eye helps designate this species from the other two found in California; the Northern and Panamint Alligator Lizards. It’s always interesting to check for ticks on our reptilian friends and…seems there’s one behind the ear hole and perhaps one or more in the ear.
