Chlorogalum pomeridianum, also known as Soap Plant or Amole, produce delicate white flowers that open late in the day and will last only through one night, these nocturnal bloomers often attract night-flying moths and bats. White flowers tend to be night bloomers which better reflect the faint light of the moon and stars, they help conserve energy by not having to produce metabolically costly pigments and night blooming minimizes competition for pollinators.
