There’s a whole gang of birds who enthusiastically follow herds. Many species of seed and insect eaters immediately cruise through freshly grazed areas where they can forage more efficiently and safely keep an eye out for predators. In tall dense thickets of un-grazed grasslands, short-legged birds may struggle to navigate the tangle of stems when in search of food.
