Pacific-slope Flycatcher

Empidonax difficilis can be found during breeding season from Baja to British Columbia whistling secretively in the shadows of coastal forests. While they may sometimes consume the occasional berry, most of their feeding is done by waiting and watching for flying insects then flitting out to hunt on the wing, a technique referred to as “sallying”.
