Oyster mushroom

Pleurotus ostreatus are one of the more common and prized edible mushrooms, usually found growing out the side of recently dead hardwoods. While they are important recyclers of woody material, they are also known to be carnivorous, poisoning and consuming nematode worms as a protein rich food source.
