Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Marsh Wren

This small but mighty wren makes a living being elusive yet aggressive in wetlands throughout much of North America. During the breeding season, males can be seen sitting atop vegetation and singing its busy buzzing song before diving back into the safety of the shadows. Males will build several nests and often breed with multiple females, both sexes are known to destroy the eggs and nestlings of other birds in their area.
