Little Brown Bat Rescue

Myotis lucifugus, aka “little brown myotis”, was once among the most common bats in North America but is now severely declining due to white-nose syndrome. Deft nocturnal hunters, one individual can eat 1,000 mosquitos per hour and may consume more than their own body weight each night.

This one was found stuck in a sliding window, once freed it lapped at some water crawled up to a safe spot, preened a bit and took off.
