Lesser Goldfinch

Spinus psaltria may be the smallest of the “true finches” in the world. They’re found along the western coast of North America and have adapted well to cohabitating with human settlements. This time of year they are busy prizing out the small but nutritious “weed seeds” found commonly in our grasslands and gardens.
