Large Bee-flies Mating

Bombylius major, also known as the “dark-edged bee-fly”, are flies mimicking bees, not only do they mimic bees…they parasitize them. After mating, females seek the underground nests of solitary bees and wasps to fling her eggs into. The larvae will hatch and attach themselves to the host larva and slowly consume it.
