Juvenile Golden Eagle

Still lacking some of the plumage that indicates “adulthood” this young eagle still hangs around its home nest (below). Mortality can be high for young Golden Eagles, it’s difficult for 1 to 4 year olds to find new territories to make a home and build a new family.
