How to Catch a Bee

This Orb Weaver spider demonstrates the time-tested technique of safely capturing a meal. Once something flies into the web there’s a sense of urgency to quickly subdue the prey with a quick injection of venom and wrapping it in a wide band of sticky silk until all the legs and wings are held out of harms way. The venom will either paralyze or kill the victim and begin to liquify its insides. Depending on how hungry the spider is, it will either slurp into the yummy liquids immediately and/or save it for a later snack.
