Hawk Pellets

Around the base of power poles is a good place to find the regurgitated undigestible remains of a hawk’s meal. Where owls swallow their prey whole, bones and all, other raptors tend to selectively tear and consume the meaty bits while leaving bones behind. You’ll notice there aren’t any skulls, pelvis’ or femurs in these pellets…just a lot of fur, feathers and the occasional small bone.
