Harvest Brodiaea

Brodiaea elegans is one of the “geophytes” that flowers late in the season and utilizes an underground bulb to survive through the dry summer months. These bulbs were an important food for the native peoples as well as a critical source of pollen and nectar for bees, flies and butterflies after most other flowers have come and gone.
