Feeding an Eaglet

Adult Golden Eagles have a lot of hunting to do to keep up with a growing eaglet’s appetite, chicks require 1 to 2 pounds of food daily and will pack on a half-pound to 1 pound of weight every week. Eaglets have a storage pouch in their throat that can store up to 2 pounds of food at a time allowing them to digest it gradually.
