One of over 200 species of Cuscuta in the morning glory family also known as; strangle-weed, wizard’s net, devil’s guts, angel hair, hellbine or love vine. Dodder is known as a “holoparasite”, or non-photosynthetic and completely dependent on a host. Thin twining stems produce haustoria, rootlike structures, that grow into or around a host plant to absorb water and nutrients.
