Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Curly Dock

Rumex crispus, also known as “Yellow Dock” is a perennial herb from temperate Eurasia. Now present around the world and naturalized in California, it can invade and occupy many habitat types including disturbed soils, roadsides, meadows and forest edges. Their seed pods, when dried, can be ground and used as a slightly more bitter buckwheat flour.
