Cowbag clover

Trifolium depauperatum is also known as Dwarf sack clover, Pale sack clover and poverty clover. This native annual is fairly common in California and found elsewhere in North America. Once pollinated, it’s flowers inflate into a characteristically balloon shape with the seeds rattling around inside.
