Aphelocoma California can be found along the west coast, dining on a broad range of fruit and small creatures, in the autumn and winter they turn their attention to seeds, nuts and famously Oak acorns. One individual may store thousands of acorns a season, tucking them just inside the soil surface where they can be retrieved during lean times.
