Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Bluff Lettuce

Dudleya farinosa is a succulent most often seen on the coastal bluffs and is also found wherever that Bay Area summer fog can reach, including the slopes of Sonoma Mountain. Its ability to cling to rocky slopes and store water in its tissues help it survive the mostly-dry but occasionally-foggy summers. Sadly it’s recently been under attack from plant poachers who illegally collect it and sell it on the black-market.
