Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Back in Their Breeding Grounds

Tree swallows are arriving back to Sonoma County from Mexico and Central America, they are typically faithful to a location and most often find new mates to breed with every year. While they may pair again with the same mate, if one dies or does not return they quickly find a new partner and males may mate with multiple females.
