Ant Gardens

Harvester ants diligently gather, transport, store and consume an array of seeds from the grasslands. In the process, for various reasons, many seeds are rejected and discarded just outside the colony’s entrance. This ring of greenery is the resultant germination of last years uneaten seeds. A small creature with a large effect on the plant community.
