A Black-tailed Jackrabbit

Lepus californicus is also known as the “American Desert Hare”, Hares are in the same family but different genera than rabbits (bunnies). They tend to be more solitary and prefer open grassland with shrub cover nearby…not to mention those long legs and impressive ears. (Click image for larger versions)
