California Buckeye Flowers

Aescalus californica produce large panicles of pink and white flowers providing nectar and pollen to many creatures. Most of the individual flowers are male, only a few will have male and female parts usually located toward the tip of the flower. Once pollinated the developing fruit will grow to become one of the largest seeds outside the tropics.
