Fighting for a Home

In ancient forests there are a lot of nooks and crannies in big old trees for birds to make nests. In our relatively young forests there just isn’t the same habitat complexity and so bird boxes can serve an important role in providing structures for nesting. Here are some swallows, bluebirds and even a white breasted nuthatch tussling for a vacancy (housing in Sonoma County..!!).
