Snakefly

This member of the “nerve-winged” or Neuropterida taxa is related to the lacewings, alderflies and antlions. Both adult and larvae are predators of soft-bodied arthropods like mites and aphids and so are welcomed pest control in many gardens. Considered living fossils, today’s snakeflies look the same as 140 million year old specimens.
