Micropterus salmoides also known as “widemouth or bucket-mouth bass” are one of the few Black Bass species found in North America, introduced in California in the late 1800’s. Many ponds dried down to historic levels this last year but Largemouths are known to be able to survive in shallow, warm and murky waters…they’re probably happier to have their pond full again.
