Selasphorus sasin is the other common humming bird (along with Anna’s hummingbird) found nesting along Coastal California. They migrate here from Mexico to breed, usually laying two little white eggs, the young take around 2 weeks to incubate then 3 weeks before their first flight. The female will busily bring them nectar and insects while they’re in the nest and for a couple weeks after they fledge.
