Another Oriole Nest

This Bullock’s oriole nest was found near the Santa Rosa creek which every year, after high water, is littered with the trash rack of human made materials. In addition to natural fibrous materials, this oriole couple included bits of washed away refuse like strands of polypropylene plastic in their construction. The bottom photo shows a half built nest that, for some reason, was abandoned before completion.
