Male Purple Finch

The male Purple Finch (Carpodacus purpureus) is sometimes described as a “sparrow dipped in raspberry juice”, they’re usually found in mixed coniferous forests foraging through the canopy for tree seeds but aren’t above cruising bird feeders in the winter…as evidenced here.
