Lorquin’s Admiral

Limenitis lorquini is native to western North America and utilizes Batesian mimicry as protection against predators by looking like the California Sister (pictured at bottom), who absorbs and concentrates tannins from oaks in their larval stage. [Quick note: check the difference in orange blobs at the tip of the wings.]
