Turkey Mullein

Croton setiger, also known as “Doveweed” is a native annual herb in the Euphorbiaceae family. Getting its name from its edible seeds being favored by various birds including doves and turkeys, it’s leaves however are known to be toxic to livestock. It can most often be found along roadsides or in disturbed areas including recently burned terrain. Click image for larger version
