Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Little Brown Bird in the Brush

When a tree falls in the woods, does it make a sound? The Bewick’s Wren says, “Yes, thank you”…and there in the dark shadowy tangle it makes its living. LBBs or “Little Brown Birds” tend to take advantage of dark plumage and stealthy agility to forage, nest and shelter in the downed wood of a forest floor. Along with many other species of LBBs they prefer to remain unseen and rely on their masterful vocal abilities to communicate to establish territories, find mates and sound predator alarms.
