A Bad Feather Day

This juvenile Red-tailed hawk seemed to be having a hard time getting used to the effects of a cool foggy morning…throwing a hissy-fit? Note the grayish nictitating membrane or “third eye-lid” working hard to deal with the condensation on the eyeballs. Then the obvious discomfort and frustration trying to figure out what to do about all those wet feathers. (Click image for larger version)
