An Emerald Moth

Probably Nemoria pistaciaria, a Geometrid moth native to California and Oregon is one of 36 species in the Genus. Their mottled green and white wing and body scales can be a lovely camouflage in some places…not so much in others. Adult moths may live a few days to a few weeks and their scales gradually fall away, telling the tales of their age and abrasive experiences.
