Lithobates catesbeianus, or “American Bullfrog” are native to the central and eastern United States. They occupy a wide range of wetland habitats and are voracious predators, attempting to eat anything they can fit in their mouths. They are also known to be spreaders of the Chytrid fungus which is a leading cause in the decline of native amphibians and responsible for the extinction of over 100 species in the last 50 yrs.
