Celebrating and Caring for the Land

Woodland Strawberry Flower

Fragaria vesca can be found in open woodlands throughout the northern hemisphere. In the Rose Family, they have 5 white petals, a ring of stamens surrounding the pistils at the center. The part that holds the pistils is called the “receptacle” which is what will enlarge to become the recognizable strawberry fruit.
