Black Phoebe

Sayornis nigricans is one of the “Tyrant” Flycatchers (Family: Tyrannidae) native to the west coast. They’re most commonly found around bodies of water where they sit on favorite perches and fly out to catch insects and return to their perch, they’ve even been seen plucking minnows from the water.
