October = Frog Feast

By early October, pond water levels are dropping, making frog hunting much easier for wading birds such as Greater Yellowlegs. Like other wading birds, they can be found hunting various prey in a variety of places, depending on the season. A similar scene was witnessed almost one year ago to the date (see link below).
