Common Wood-nymph

Cercyonis pegala, also known as “Blue-eyed Grayling’ or “Goggle eye” is one of at least 13 subspecies commonly found throughout the continental U.S. They’re most often found in prairie and open woodland, choosing various grass species as host plant.
