Agave Snout Weevil?

It’s been said that “most terrestrial animals are beetles and most beetles are weevils”. This one may be related to the weevil implicated in the devastating impacts on Agave plant relatives. That long slender snout is perfect for chewing into the tissues of plants, eggs are also deposited near the heart of the plant from which will hatch a hoard of hungry larvae…eventually leading to the host plants’ death.
